Working artists require a skill set beyond the ability to create:

  • Trends in watercolor
  • Sizing digital photos of artwork
  • Marketing online
  • National competitions
  • Start-up selling artwork
  • Packaging & mailing paintings
  • Prints of artwork
  • Feeling “stuck”; no creativity
  • New hacks, color theories, new material recommendations
  • Conducting demonstrations and teaching workshops
  • Ins and outs of gallery representation
  • Your artist website; set one up
  • Artist statement
  • Artist commissions
  • Artists Grants
  • Residencies
  • Art festivals and plein air festival participation - advantages
  • Solo & group exhibitions
  • Press & media: Get your name & work out to the public

Have you wondered about any of the above and other subjects regarding your watercolor art journey? If you have, then you’ll be interested in MSW’s new Working Artist Initiative (WAI). It’s free to all MSW members and will include an advisory team to answer your questions.

    • Attend from the comfort of your home by Zoom.
    • Interactive meetings so your questions and comments are welcome.
    • Purpose is intended to be helpful and supportive to our members because the best answers come from other artists who’ve had previous experiences.
    • Occasionally a featured guest artist will speak on a particular subject.
    • Duration will be 45 minutes to one hour, on a quarterly basis and will accommodate working members.
    • Connect with a group of artists to share information, and resources, and to provide support for each other.

Click the "Register Button" in the top left corner to take part in this free member benefit and receive the Zoom link and reminders.
