About this event

Illustrate the Fashion Portrait

We will break down the features of the face and hands and put them together, creating a fashion portrait. We will discuss the differences between a fashion portrait and other portraits. We will also discuss the ways in which  sketching/illustrating on a regular basis positively impacts your own art practice. Most of all, we will have fun!

Supplies

These are the supplies I use. While I am sharing brand names, that is only for
informational purposes. Please bring whatever brands you are comfortable using.

1. Strathmore Watercolor Visual Journal – 9x12 pages, 90 or 140# paper
2. Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils – especially light pinks, black and red
3. A sharpener and an eraser
4. Daniel Smith and Holbein watercolor paints – I use Holbein’s Shell Pink and Jaune Brilliant in my sketches for skin tones frequently and I always stock up on Lamp Black
5. Brushes – in sketches I stick primarily to #1-5 rounds, a flat and an angle. Most are Holbein Gold and Scharff brushes
6. Water container
7. Viva Signature Cloth paper towels
8. Something to protect the tables
